Cape Buffalo being born | Caught in the Act
If you ask a safari guide for his or her most special sightings, those that have been lucky enough to witness a birth will usually list that amongst the top moments of their career. While watching a herd of about 400 buffalo moving through the long summer grasses, Giles Kelmanson noticed a single cow who was in labour. An amazing sighting to watch from start to finish. The birth was only about 5 minutes and 16 minutes after the drop that the little calf was beginning to use its legs to catch up to the safety of the rest of the herd alongside its mother.
